Gathered required equipment I am using what will be my secondary fermenter eventually, it is the type with two handles and a 4â€

Ian,

I tend to use an Iodophor Solution to do my sanitizing. I use 1/4 teaspoon in 2 litres of water. This is then rinsed around my equipment and left for 2 minutes. I then pour the solution into a different container in case I need to use it again. If I don't I pour it away.

The great thing about this stuff is that you don't have to rinse (although I tend to to get rid of the foam).

DaaB uses a similar stuff (can't remember the name) but you may want to look into this.

Personally I would NEVER use bleach to clean my equipment.

Since discovering Iodophor I wouldn't use anything else!!!

If it saves me waiting for 20mins everytime i shall have to get some.
