If i wanted to give a kit a bit of a better taste could i add some hops by boiling some up in a pan of water for an amount of time?

ie
Goldings & Fuggles 60 mins
Bit more for last 15 min
some at the end of boil.

Then add that liquid when topping up the FV to the desired amount?

Is it possible or would it ruin the brew?

Its just the beer kit im drinking is a bit bland.

Missed out a comma in that first sentence. I wouldnt boil the treacle stuff. I was meant to say just a pan of boiling water but you've answered it for me, thanks.
