Basically, I'm not very impressed. This beer brewing is harder than it seems. I guess I did have some obvious problems with these first two brews (temperature, and too long in the FV) so perhaps I can just put it down to that and see how the third one comes out.

With the Linthwaite it could be too much time in the FV has led to autolysis of the yeast (the cells die, split open and spill their guts into the beer).

I thought the autolysis would come with a "burnt rubber" smell - which I dont think I have. I had hoped that no strong smell meant i was ok.
