Not sure what to do now...

Hi

I recently bought a home brew starter kit with Woodfordes Wherry to start me off. It said on the website I got it from that I didn't need any sugar, so naturally I didn't order any.

When I got the thing it said I needed sugar to add to the keg, before I transfer the beer from the fermenting bucket into the keg. I ordered some sugar and set the brew going (MISTAKE)

I now have a brew that has been in the fermenting bucket for 6 days and is ready (according to the gravity readings) to be transferred into the keg, but I don't have any sugar yet.

Should I
-wait for the sugar to get here and then transfer the brew over
-or transfer the brew over and then add the sugar
-or transfer the brew over and forget about the sugar
-or throw the whole thing away and start again

Any suggestions would be awesome...

Just use table sugar. You don't use much for priming so it probably won't make much difference compared to using brewing sugar.

Just add 80g of Tate and Lyle table sugar, I would suggest drawing off about a pint of beer from the fermenting vessel and add the sugar to it then heat it on the stove to help dissolve the sugar, You can also add beer finings to thisif desired. Add this to the keg then siphon off the rest of the beer into the keg.

You could have racked to another bucket untill the sugar turned up, that way letting the beer clear a little more and not getting a big transfer of the yeast cake. It will turn out fine the way you done it though :P
