Wilko's kit prices gone up.
Wilko's kit prices gone up.
Been to Wilok's today, everything but the Wherry has gone up by £2-3. Geordie is £7.99, Edme £9.99, Coopers £9.99 etc.....

One reason for the price hike could be that they're not selling enough to offer the stuff at lower prices?
Im glad i picked up a couple kits last week lol
I suppose it's good though in the long term as theres now no reason to buy from there instead of a local homebrew store (if you're lucky enough to have one)
edit:
I've just looked at the online store and everything has gone up there aswell now. Beerkit enhancer has jumped from £3.29 to £4.99 (more expensive than LHB stores), Geordie kits are all £7.99 now, tom caxton is £9.99, definitive bitter has jumped up 2 quid to £6.99 and a few other things have gone up here and there.

Maybe I'm just too cynical.

I must say though, now that Homebrewing is getting more popular it would be good if there was a larger selection of kits of the fruitier/hoppier citrus style beers that are out there at the mo. It's a shame Badger don't do kits!

Out of interest, what suggest homebrew is getting more popular?
I reckon this price increase is more likely that they're not selling enough to offer discounted prices anymore as they wont be buying so much, hence charging now what i assume is the regular RRP price (im assuming this as it's the prices most HB shops sell them for)
It's such a big increase in price for it just to be a regular increase to cash in on somethings popularity in my opinion.
...but what do i know lol

Just bought the last two wherry kits from Wilko's in WsM for £14.99 each.
Doesn't make sense, the price increases seem to be inversely proportional to the cost:
The Wherry hasn't gone up (yet?)
Edme from £8.99 to £9.99 11%, Coopers £8.25 to £9.99 21%
Geordie from £4.99 to £7.99 60%, Beer enhancer £3.29 to £4.99 52%
