Keging Help

Post by ians2 » Mon Jul 07, 2008 2:26 pm

Help, I posted a little while ago re: Kegging a Woodfordes kit, but I have another couple of questions to ask.

What is the best sugar to use to prime the keg.
How much sugar should I add, and what is the best way to add it.

Many thanks for your help.

Many thanks for your help,

I followed yr instruction and my keg is currently sitting in a warm area, do I leave it now for two weeks to prime then another week in a cold area to settle?

For a Woodforde's kit in my exprience at the current ambient temps approx 5 days will be enough then move to somewhere as cool as possible for 2/3 weeks.
The brew should hopefully improve further if left longer though.

Out of interest, what was the final gravity of your Woodforde's kit and have you read THIS thread?

Thanks for your help,

Have only brewed one Woodfordes kit in the Keg (microbrewery kit) and that turned out fantastic.

The second one have done in a fermenter bucket first and transfered over to the Keg.

In both occasions did not check the gravity.

However I have one more Woodfordes kit to do and will check the gravity on that one.

But must say have been very happy with the one that I can drink. Its turend out spot on taste wise, although a bit cloudy.
