bottling

well my first post, here it goes! just bought the youngs brew buddy bitter kit and will b ready to bottle soon and my granda who got me started on home brewing has always used the good old syphon method of sucking it threw but i hav bought a fermenter with a tap and wen i was at the shop didnt know u had to buy a bottleing stick also and the shop is quiet far away so is ther another method or device i cud mak to bottle up my first batch??? or is it another trip to the home brew store???lol just wondering if thers sumthing i can mak myself if not its fine thanks for any help in advance

You dont need a bottling stick - though I would get one next time your near an HBS. If you have siphon tube you should be able to fit this to the bottom of your tap, and just put it into the bottom of the bottle as you fill, and make sure you've got one hand on the tap at all times, ready to turn off the flow.

Hopefully if the seal is good, the beer flow will just stop, however, you may need to stop early to allow for beer draining out of the tube.

I wouldnt recomend trying to fill direct from the tap, as soon as a drop oof beer gets between the tap and the bottle, you'll get bubbles - messy...
