Hi
Still new to homebrewing - amazed at how good it tastes.
I have a king keg (top tap) and I am struggling with the tap. The tap seems to stick it is either fully closed or fully open.
I have another keg which is what I would refer too as a standard keg and the tap has a handle which seems far easier to operate & control the flow into a glass.
My problem with the king keg is that when I try to pour a pint I end up with the tap fully open gushing out beer, this results in a pint glass full of froth. I have tried replacing the tap & still have the same problem.
I do not have this problem with the standard keg. With the standard keg I find it far easier to pour a pint.
Is it possible to change the tap on the king keg to that of a standard keg ?
Has anyone else had this problem - how did you get round it?
Hope this makes some sense.
regards
Dave
King Keg Tap
i know what your getting at, and im not sure you can change it.
the male part of the tube is a certain size to fit into the rear of the tap and im not sure if this diameter is standard.
i make sure that the pressure doesnt get too high, and if it gushes out when i pour i pinch the collar rubber near the gas inlet (this is the pressure release valve should it become over pressurised.
have a look when its empty and do a quick 'by eye' measurement and compare next time you get to the back of the levered tap.
