Straight From The Bottle

Hi I was watching some Youtube vids on homebrewing one of which was a guide to homebrewing.During the video he takes out a glass bottle and says it's one he drank earlier he them promptly drinks it straight from the bottle.
Are you always supposed to pour homebrew straight into a glass because of the sediment formed at the bottom?

Ps I watched the whole video and his method was standard,no forced carbing.

I always pour mine into a 2 pint capacity jug first, to allow for the foam from the head, then pour into the glass, as seen here.

You'll not die drinking sediment.
Chances are he either didn't care about sediment, or didn't add sugar when bottling so didn't have much sediment.
He's a heathen anyway. How can you admire the colour and head retention without pouring it into a glass and looking at it first?

I was in America a couple of weeks ago and had a few bottles of SNPA in a bar. First one came out, just the bottle, no glass. I thought it might not be bottle conditioned out there so proceeded to drink. I was wrong.

I didn't die,but did get a glass with the next one

Also some yeasts are determined to stick to the bottom, whilst others fight to get out before you've even got the cap off
