hi all, your thoughts please on this. i seen this on youtube
og 1.046 - fg 1.006 = 0.04 x 131 = 5.24 alc/vol.
sorry, had a few when i wrote this last night. what i meant to write is,
is this a true equation to work on?
alc. vol.
Plus 0.2 for secondary fermentation, I'm not really anal HONEST

On a serious note have noticed someone added on a post a 'clicky' to a web page with a different calculation, which gave a much higher reading. Which do you believe? Personally I always tell SWMBO the lower estimate and my mates the higher one!

Then remember to add something for priming sugar:
If you use cane sugar for priming and it fully ferments then half that weight results in alcohol. 85g sugar -> 42g alcohol so volume is 42 / 0.79 = 53ml. In 23l, that's another .23%
All measurements at 20 Celsius.
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget
