Help i'm new to homebrewing, before i carry out the following next step of brewing my beer below. I don't have a mircowave can i do the next step on a pan on top of the hob?

Before transferring to a homebrew barrel, dissolve 80grams of brewers sugar or DME in around 100mls of boiling water and then zap in the microwave to bring back to the boil, wait a few moments before removing and take great care as disturbing may cause a boil over due to uneven heating, Pyrex jugs are useful for doing this purpose. Add this sugar solution to the homebrew barrel before transferring the beer. The sugars will ferment in the homebrew barrel (or bottle) giving your beer sparkle. These sugars are known as priming sugars.

yep on the hob is fine, getting back to boil is just to clean the sugar and make sure the whole thing is as sterile as possible.

Any sugar will do, it's such a small amount it make little or no difference.

yes tate and lyle is fine. Priming is pretty forgiving on the sugar used and lots of people use table sugar like tate and lyle.

do you have a hydrometer, an original gravity reading and a current gravity reading?

What are you using as a secondary fermenter.... keg?

okay that is a level that i would be comfortable moving on at. Has the gravity been the same for two days, i.e has it stopped fermenting?

This should be fine to prime and keg, would keep keg in the warm for a week to aid secondary fermentation.
