worth adding safale so4 to fixby gold tonight

hi all got some safale, thought might i use that instead of one with kit .would this be ok. glad i have the use off all my fingers when doing my brew.not like when i type .is a brewferm xmas ale tricky thanks

S04 is a good yeast and although many people have had no problems with the kit yeast, personally I'd go for the S04. Or try the kit yeast and keep the 04 as a backup.

Brewferm Xmas is probably the easiest kit to do. Theres nothing to add other than water. Not even priming sugar. Plus, its only 7 litres so its dead quick to bottle! (actually its worth doing a double mix) Just be sure to leave it at least 2 months before testing. Check to early and you'll start to think you should have primed, but it will carbonate eventually.
One thing to point out with Breferm kits is that when you follow the table in the instructions it seems that amount of water to be added is not enough. If I remember correctly it states in the text to add 2 litres of hot first, which I don't think is mentioned in the chart, plus there's the volume of the kit to take into account. I found it hard to follw at first so this may help clear things up a bit. (unless it was just me being stupid, or drunk!)
