Well after brewing a Muntons Premium Gold which struggled like hell and finally made 1.016 before bottling I was pleasantly surprised to find the Milestong Lions Pride I started Monday has already hit 1.010 (3 days @ 19 degrees !!!) and is still bubbling away ... albeit slowly now,
First time I have had a brew that has not had a 'high krausen' (if that is the correct term) just an inch or so of foam on top that has since subsided, Im assuming this is a characteristic of the supplied yeast as the drop in SG gives me nothing to worry about....,
Anyway Im away for 2 more days so will syphon into a 5 gallon glass secondary on Sunday to get it off the yeast and then bottle a week later.....
Roll on Xmas...... but I must get a padlock for my beer conditioning cupboard..... the Sherwoods cider is starting to call to me when I lay awake at night..... 'Drink me..... Drink me... you know you want to....'
Cheers Steve
Milestone.... a pleasant change...

In defence iof Muntons, I made a Premium Gold Smugglers Ale for my last brew and it was easily the best I've made and quite possibly the best beer I've ever tasted, at home or in the pub. Absolutely delicious. My wife, who had turned her nose up and my earlier efforts is now a big fan and wants me to get another batch on the go.
