Brewferm Pils
Has anybody on here made the above and if so what was there verdict on this one.Hoping to make it as the 12 ltr and not the 20 ltr .Also was hoping to force carb this 1 in the corny would like some thoughts on doing it to this kit

I've not done the Pils but I have done Gold and am about to do it again as it turned out so well. Currently about to bottle a Triple too.
Brewferm kits seem to have agood reputation so give the Pils a go, I'm sure it'll turn just fine.

Did the Pils a couple of years ago but the 20L version. According to instructions should be left for 6-8 weeks before drinking but I found it a bit dissapointing at that stage (I bottled mine and sampled every fortnight or so). After another couple of months it had improved a lot (although I noted it was a bit darker than I would have expected). I have also done the diabalo and the christmas, both took months to mature but were brilliant. More recently I did the Wheat beer which is going the same way as the Pils, it's in the bottle for about 6 weeks but although drinkable I know it could be better. As an aside, recently bottled a brewbuddy bitter (with enhancer) and after a week in primary and a week in secondary it was ready to drink in just another week. Lightly carbonated and no harsh tatse, a surprising winner. I plan to give all the Brewferm kits a bash (unless I finally take a leap of faith into all grain) but would expect to brew them and then lay them down for a good while.

I agree with clootie, the Brewferm Gold improved greatly over time.
If you can resist temptation it'll be best to brew and leave alone for a few months.

I've recently made the 12l Brewferm Pils, and despite making a couple of mistakes at the bottling stage (disturbing the sediment and underpriming), I was hugely impressed with the aroma and flavour.
The kit really displays the characteristics of a true Belgian Pils, has a light 'floral' aroma similar to true Belgian Stella and tastes really clean and fresh (even after only six weeks in the bottle, not enough carbonation and far too much sediment in the botttom of the bottle).

What's the difference in ABV for the Pils at 12ltr and 20ltr?

Checked back on notes to see if I took gravity readings. This was only the fourth kit I did so didn't take OG but fermented out at 1008. Instructions say add 1kg sugar to the 20l so guess this will balance out the ABV between both versions

Brewferm kits are excellent in my opinion, quality not quantity. I made up a Gallia in June, left it for the recommended 2 months and was disappointed. It was okay but nothing special, another 2 months on and I just cannot believe how much its improved, its gone from average to excellent and I intend to work my way through the whole range in time.
They really are kits where you need to put them away and forget about them by brewing something else you can quaff in the meantime, for me they are beers that are best bottled.

FWIW, I made it up to 20L with a spraymalt/glucose mix, and added a few hops.
