Should I Use Spraymalt

Post by Captain Slackbladder » Sun Nov 02, 2008 12:23 pm

Mornin all
Just started this homebrew lark. What fun.
With regards to sugar. I’ve been using Young’s brewing sugar (1KG for 23litres) to a Coopers Austrailian Lager kit. Then bottling it after the final SG is at 1.004 for 2 days.
Is there any advantage in using spray malt instead of the normal brewing sugar.
Thanks all . :?

when spraymalt is used with a kit it will give more a more alcohol and a malty body to the beer, using the brewers sugar (I think it's just glucose) will give more alcohol but thin the brew a little, it all depends how you like your lager, it may be that the glucose is better suited to a lager.
