Power Cut and Temperature Drop.

Post by Titanium Tone » Sun Nov 23, 2008 2:11 pm

Hi all can anyone advise please. I started a John Bull irish stout yesterday and all seemed well. I put the FV in the garage as usuall and plugged in the electrim heater. I went to the garage this morning to see how things were coming on it looks like something has been working but we had a power cut in the night and the FV temperature is only 55. I have now covered the FV and also put a heat ring on to bring the temp back up do you think it will be ok ???. #-o

Drinking. Coopers. Original series bitter.
Conditioning. Woodfordes. Wheery.
Conditioning. Woodfordes. Admiral's Reserve.
Fermenting. John Bull Masterclass irish stout.
Next. Not sure yet.

Aye, im sure that'll be fine, it wasn't for too long, perhaps give it a litle stir to make sure.

I had a similar problem early on - yeast dropped out of suspension so I had to rouse it once I'd warmed things up. Everything went fine after that and the beer was fine.

Power cut here last night as well, but at least it's nice an mild so I don't think the beer's suffered at all.
