morgans golden sheaf
morgans golden sheaf
just brought a morgans sheaf kit, i'm using a 1.5 kg coopers light malt extract. How much shall i add and is this the only thing i add
Re: morgans golden sheaf
There should be some destructions with the kit.
Generally for a 1.5/1.7 KG kit, around a kilo of sugar is used, at least thats what i use. Plus of course you'll need yeast, supplied with the kit, pitched after you've mixed the kit/sugar and water up.
Hope this helps

Re: morgans golden sheaf
yeah as above however much sugar it says on the instructions add the DME as the sugar. so 1kg of sugar = 1kg of dme
Re: morgans golden sheaf
is the coopers malt extract dried or liquid?
I'm asking because I have never seen Coopers dried extract, so I thought maybe you have a 1.5 kg of liquid extract.
if it is liquid, then I'd use the whole can, if the instructions call for 1kg of sugar. Otherwise, 1kg of dried extract.

Re: morgans golden sheaf
its liquid, i'm a bit concerned using this liquid malt as everyone says use 1kg of dme. will i get better or worse results using this
Re: morgans golden sheaf
S`pposed to be one of the better wheat kits and I`ve been thinking about ordering one for myself.
Have a look here for hints on how to get the best out of it, it seems you need a big FV to cope with the early and very lively fermentation.;
