What have I made???

I've tinkered with a Muntons IPA..... possibly ruined it, probably not.
I added some (probably too much) malted barley (250g) steeped at 70-80C for 30mins.
Also added 15g of Fuggles brewed for 20 mins in a pint of boiling water.
Also used Beer Enhancer.

No idea how it'll come out.

Is this halfway between Kit and Extract or nowhere near Extract?

What sort of malted barley ?

Pale malt requires mashing at 62-69 deg c.

Specialty malts, those that can be steeped like crystal, roast barley, black and chocolate, should ideally be steeped at 60-70 deg c.

If you used pale malt and steeped at 60-70 deg c you would have probably converted the starches to sugar and would have been fine, at 70-80 you may not get any conversion.

Steeping specialty malts at 70-80 deg c is less of a problem although the hotter you steep them the more likely you are to extract astringent flavours.
Crystal ..... book suggested 77C
