I take it that both these Coopers examples are from unconnected manufacturers....
The one on the left being very Aussie, I presume Thomas Cooper is British made.

So when people of this forum state that Coopers Stout is the muts nuts, is it the Aussie one?

I could be wrong, but I thought they were the same company...

The Coopers Stout everyone raves about is the one in the picture.

sorry guys but the extract is also from the land of Neighbours and Shane Warne.
first time i have used liquid extract outside of a two can kit so can't wait for the results.

cracking website as well, haven't been on it in ages but after a re-visit the homebrew section is quite comprehensive. the gander also answered a question i had. i'm looking to do a coopers draught for summer because i really like VB and wanted to know what type of malt (light or dark) to use to get that traditional aussie taste. i'll need something for when we get thumped in the ashes!

You actually 'LIKE' VB... #-o
After a few months traveling in Australia you find that Coopers and just a couple of others beers actually cut it, VB and Tooheys are just cheap aussie piss not much better than Fosters and XXXX
Just because Victoria Bitter has the word 'bitter' in it doesn't make it closer to real british ale, when I first got to Oz VD tasted alright but that soon changed [-X

yep bit of a guilty pleasure pdtnc. i think its the lager lout in us (can i still say that being a ale brewer and drinker now) and just think it is different from lager. but i'm sure Coopers will be what i'm after.

as i say i'll try anything once apart from incest and voting tory!

Which of the two Coopers Stouts linked below is the best?
I'm guessing that the Original Stout is brewed the most as it's easier to get hold of.

Coopers Brewmaster Selection Irish Stout

Coopers Orinal Stout

never even seen that one strangebrew! the "white" original one is quality i wonder what that one is like! yes the original one is easier to get hold of, ask ditch 1000 euros worth wasn't it(?), thats why i have brewed it this time with coopers malt extract, to see what it'll be like.

bit worrying - the website says 500g LIGHT spraymalt and 300g sugar. hmmmm

Be worth trying to get hold of a can of both to compare. If the Original is the mutts danglies I wonder what the other one is like as to me it seems that the way Coopers have marketed their kits it would suggest that the Brewmaster Selection is the top of the range.

politics and beer....! The only politician I have liked turned out to be an alcoholic so i'll be abstaining as politics in general is about the same as prostitution!
