To Much Fiz!z!!!!!!!

Post by cougarking » Sat Jan 24, 2009 5:53 am

Made my first Woodfords wherry, left to condition for 5 weeks. When opening from the bottle all i get is lots of fizz when pouring in to the glass. ie. half a pint of creamy head in a pint glass!!!!.
Wonder if anyone can tell be what i have done wrong!

cheers

Try pouring slower and tilt the glass at an angle, ensure the glass is spotless, if that does not work it looks like you had too much priming sugar when botteling or bottled too early.

The link to the advice at the top of the page is well worth a read a few times

Another option is to chill your beer. Not the best option if it's a nice ale but it will work.

Id say chill the beer, rinse your glass with cold water, hold glass at 45 degrees and pour gently without letting the beer "Glug" in the bottle, then as the glass fills slowly tilt the glass back to 90 degrees (so you dont spill it)

Damn but i need a beer now.
