Brewpaks Pride of Yorkshire Linthwaite Light

Post by GTATTY » Sun Feb 01, 2009 8:41 pm

Hi all

I've been away for a while but hoping to get back into the brewing lark again. :)
I've not gone "all grain" yet but hopefully doing so in the summer as the wife said she'll buy me a 10 LTR kit from H+G for my bday in May!

Anyway, I did the above kit this afternoon. No problems with it.
O.G 1.044
Temp 21.6C
I also steeped the hop bag provided in 2 LTRS boiling water for 15mins and then added to the Wort before topping up to the final volume of 5 Gallon.

Lets hope it drops to the recommended 1.010 in 7 days

Anyone else done this kit? and did you do it same or different?

Cheers all

Graham :)

Iirc, it's the first kit I did, many moons ago. It's still one of my favorites too

It was a very good beer which I keg'd, it lasted about two weeks though

Well spotted, I was meant to say 10 Gallon!

2 days on and the yeast head is almost at the top of the fermenter, it started a little slower this time but I'd say it's because the temperature of my room reduced through the first night! The room temperature is now a stable 21C.

Here's looking forward to a good brew as it smells very nice at the mo :D

Tested the gravity this morning and it was 1.012/1.014

Will have to wait a little while longer until it goes into secondary. It's starting to drop nice and clear though :D

I'll re-check it Wednesday.

I cleaned out my 2 cornies, Kingkeg, 24 bottles and 2 fermenters today so I can get another couple of kits on after this one has finished

Regards

Graham
