Have I killed it???

Post by cpisthedbb » Tue Feb 03, 2009 9:42 pm

Hi

After fermentation I left my beer conditioning for a week or so, then moved it too my garage. Before I moved it, I poured a little bit in a glass to let some excess gas out and it had an excellent head with plenty of CO2 in the beer. It's been in the garage now for over a week and I just went to pour a little bit to see how it's coming along. It's now as flat as a fart which I imagine is due to the freezing temperatures.

If I moved it back in the house would I gain more gas to the beer? Or has it had it? #-o

I take it you barreled it? and now its flat?,, im no expert but sounds like a leaky seal to me, the warm will build up the pressure, and the cold helps with the clearing, but you shouldnt lose all the pressure, i would check your barrel seals and blast a wee bit of CO2 in there, its happened to me before, and all turned out fine

I expect you may find the cold weather has caused the beer to suck up all the CO2, give it a quick top up blast and see if it sucks that up too, my last bitter took a fair bit in these freezing temps in the shed, but its fine now and proved that in my case it wasn't a leak.
