cooper lager and corny kegs

Post by dubboy » Fri Feb 06, 2009 10:40 pm

hi there,
I have got another batch of coopers lager on the go in the fv and when its done i would like to put it in my new corny,so what i was wondering is should i do a secondary fermentation before putting it in there.
If so how do i do that i.e can i put it in a barrel,do i need to and priming sugars, and how long for?
All info appreciated... dub

Ive not had my cornys too long but what I generally do is after the primary, I put it into a secondary with finnings, then when its clear transfer to the corny and force carb. But with my last one it seemed clear enough after 10 days in the primary so I just kegged it. It all depends if you have the means to force carb. If not then from the primary to the corny with the same sugar you would put in the barrel and the same process, all that will happen is your first pint is cloudy.
