How do you achieve sediment free brew?!

Post by chairmanmaw » Wed Feb 11, 2009 9:30 pm

Hello All,

Ive been brewing for about 9 months now and Im on to my 5th brew.

I have been getting progressively better at it, up until my last effort. I had great hopes for it, but it turned out very yeasty.

Its had me thinking; how do you achieve the kind of finish that, say, your average bottle of grolsch attains?

Is it just a waiting game? do they filter the lager more and more?

What I would ideally like to achieve (I imagine Im not alone here) is a brew that when bottled and ready for drinking, contains no yeast sediment and is devoid of the yeasty aftertaste that has plauged my last brew.

Any advice would be greatly appreicated. Im feeling a bit demoralised by it all now! [-o<
