Gas - how often?

i barrelled off my 1st lager last night and pressurised it but don't know how often this needs doing? or do i wait now until it's fully conditioned before adding more

What kind of barrel are you using? Are you trying to force carbonate or allow natural carbonation?

Drinking - Young's Harvest Bitter
Conditioning - Coopers Australian Lager

sorry it's only a cheapo youngs barrel from wilko and it's for natural carbonation

Only add gas when the pressure drops so you can't get it out the keg. If you add gas when it's fully charged then you'll just waste it through the excess valve which works at 9-10 psi.
