i have bottled a load of edme irish stout and it doesn't give much of a head unless you pour it from about 18" high

king keg question
Re: king keg question
A Kingkeg may last a bit longer than a Budget barrel but it wont make the head any better. Check ebay for second hand prices.
Re: king keg question
You can get sparkler taps that change the head on the beer. I've got them on my kegs but if the beer has a poor head to start with it does not improve it much. Coopers stout had a nice creamy head using it.
Re: king keg question
I believe theres a couple in the 'for sale' section of the forum for £25.craigjoneswales wrote:how much for a second user king keg ?
Drinking - Young's Harvest Bitter
Conditioning - Coopers Australian Lager
Re: king keg question
They're great when they work but an absolute swine when they don't seal. I think there's a design fault with the sealing arrangement with the cap and you need to get it spot on. The instructions that Weltonhurst supply are very poor and there's even a sticky post on this forum because so many people have a problem with a loss of pressure:-craigjoneswales wrote:

Personally, I wouldn't buy another one and will stick to the budget kegs.
Re: king keg question
I use a couple of king kegs and a budget barrel and there's chuff all difference in head, the pressure they can handle isn't too dissimilar.
