Bad brew night

Just been putting my coopers i.p.a [Im pissed again] on.Thought Id do it with 50/50 dry malt and brew sugar .Had the malt on the scales and went to grab it while stiring the wort and it slipped out of my hand #-o 500grms of my lovely malt all over my work tops and floor #-o The dog has been enjoying itself hope it dosent get the shits.And the lesson is dont drink beer while your brewing [-X

I have to disagree here....it's almost imperative to drink beer whilst brewing. Anything else just isn't cricket.....or brewing....

You could of course consider moving to all grain brewing - then if you drop the malt, you can just sweep it up again and put it right back in the mash tun. Of course, it doesn't stop other "stupids" - like running off from mash tun to boiler and leaving the boiler tap open.....

Dogs also like floors covered in hot sticky wort...but at least it helps with the cleaning up.

Nightmare mate. Did you have any spare? I put my coopers wheat beer on today, lost count of how much water went in and had to guess. Nowhere near as much as a problem as you had. :cry:

Oh well its all part of lifes rich tapestry :mrgreen: My socks are sticking to the floor and Ive still got to clean this mess up before doris see's it :shock: At least its Friday tommorow [-o<

Danny; Just chill out and mark it up to one of the (Many) cock ups we All make along the way. Tonights complete abortion becoming part of a later times rich source of anecdotes :D

I disagree with not drinking with a brew night. It's imperative to have a drink in hand whilst brewing!

Having four or five beers and deciding that brewing would be a good idea isn't good though. :cry:

Still hopefully you'll end up with a fine brew at the end of it.
Drinking: Turbo Cider, Black Rain Stout, Jotun Killer Double Stout, Apple Wine, AG#1 F.A.G,
Fermenting: Bramble Wine
Conditioning: Blueberry Jam Mead, Gales Mead, HLM EPIC FORCE Methegln, Tropical Juice TC on an orange mead slurry, AG#2 S.L.A.G.
