Young's C02 Injector

Post by Hoppkins » Fri Dec 01, 2006 5:28 pm

Hi,

I've made up a youngs bitter kit and it has been in the barrel now for 2 weeks (Fermentation took 6 days).

I added finings about 3 days ago.

Should it be ok to drink with the finings only going in 3 days ago?

Also I got a C02 injector, its one that injects a whole cartridge in one go. Would i have to wait until it was almost 1/2 empty to chance a whole catridge, might it not shatter the barrel?

Thanks

It could be ready to drink but i would leave it another week(have a little taster though  ).
The keg should have enough pressure to serve nearly half of the keg(depending how quick you drink the beer),then use the gas cartridge,i assume you have a sparklet type co2 bulb which have about 8g of gas,it is designed to inject the bulb in one hit so your keg shouldn't shatter
