Bottle caps during the credit crunch

Post by Popey » Mon Mar 16, 2009 7:07 pm

Hiya. quick Q.
this may seem exceedingly tight to some, but can I re-use bottle caps? they are ones I have bought and used. The beer that came from the (homebrew) bottle was fine, and my bottle opener seems to damage the caps hardly at all...so, can i reuse them if I clean them properly?
I dont ask JUST for money saving, but I Hate sending things to landfill I can reasonably re-use....any one done/does this?

Cheers!

I'v read forum users doing this successfully, so long as you are carefully when taking them off.

Not landfill if you recycle the metal...
From an Engineers perspective, I'd say buy new caps as I don't see the point in wasting the contents of my bottles due to bad seals, or any other form of naughty sea mammal! ;)
