Help Need Fizz...

done a youngs lager kit for xmas and decided today to pour off a pint or so to see if its ok. been in the barrel for about five weeks. however after all the pomp and circumstance after pouring there is no fizz.

i have a gas injector but haven't put in on the barrel (its a youngs barrel so you get one of each) my question is would it be ok if i took the lid off and put on my injector one then gas it? would it go off? would it need longer or another four weeks to settle if i gas it because i was thinking all the gunk is now at the bottom will it unsettle it? is it ok to take the lid off and re-gas it?

Cheers DaaB, know what you mean, i did a Gerodie Kit and primed it in 2 litre pop bottles and thats as near as damb it to what i was after. will do tomoz. its a shame really coz i have it stored in my "out-house" (sorry about the old fashioned term) and the temperature is perfect for lager.
