Pressure Barrel

Post by markymook » Sat May 02, 2009 4:12 pm

Hi all,In the last three days i have barrelled my Youngs Harvest Mild. All seems to be going fine but i did have a sneaky slurp today to see if its losing the bitter after taste that i noticed before barrelling. Will the air that gurgled back into the barrel after a small glass full effect the beer and should i keep the hell away for about a month ??

You should give it a one second burst of C02, getting oxygen in there is not good, leave it be [-X

No! but I think you're about to go thru' the learning curve I did, go read that thread I put there for you and you'll see what I mean, I got this, this morning, with the cap cost £30, but that included me buying the bottle as well, but now I own the bottle, re-fills only cost £5, hope this helps, but more experienced brewers will come along shortly and give you there thoughts, don't take anymore beer out to the C02 as built up in there!

Thats What I bought this morning, will save me £££££££s :D

Keep the top loose, or "BANG" she'll go, don't panic, just sort the gas out, and you're home and dry, well with a nice beer to help you,
