Coopers Wheat Beer Yeast

Post by GerryT » Mon May 04, 2009 4:46 pm

Hi Guy's

I am just about to to start a Coopers wheat Beer kit and noticed that the yeast is not in the usual gold packet but in a white one.
Is it the same yeast ? or is a wheat beer yeast?

I have some Safale S-04, would that be a better bet to pitch .

I think they've given you a wheat yeast which is a good thing for this style of beer. Don't mess with success, Coopers know what they're doing!

I brewed a batch of coopers wheat beer using 1kg of wheat dsm and tried a bottle last night, it was excellent. So I agree with mysterio, use the yeast coopers supply. I can't say what difference using wheat dsm instead of sugar made, ive not tried it with sugar but it is really nice and refreshing with the dsm. Perfect for a barbie! :D
