Modifying a fermenting bin

Brewers,

I have been thinking about modifying a fermenting bin I have. It is like this one bin, but without the tap.

Is it easy to drill a large hole for a new tap without shattering the plastic bin?

How would you fit an airlock on the lid? A lot of you talk about the airlock and I think it would be better then leaving the lid open a crack like I am doing at the moment.

Hope you have all been enjoying the glorious sunshine today, makes drinking a pint even better! :D

I simply used a hole saw for mine, no problem, well except I drilled the hole a tad high

Air lock to lid, either get a grommet with an airlock sized hole and fit that to the lid or get a solid grommet and drill an appropriate size hole in it for the air lock simples.

Cheers

Bill
