Hi
I have an FV with Wherry in that is about 2-3 days away from going into the keg. This is my first time making a brew so want to get it right. How much spraymalt/sugar etc do i need to put into the keg to prime it, also, does it need to be dissolved in water first? If so how much and at what temperature for how long?

I dissolve about 80g sugar in 100ml water, bring it to the boil, cover and leave to cool whilst I'm cleaning all the other stuff. By the time I'm ready to keg the mixture is cool enough to pour into the keg, followed by the beer. Easy peasy

I just pour 85 grams of household sugar into the keg before transferring the brew. Don't stir and it seems to work every time. Anything else is a just a waste of effort.

If I've learned nothing else I have learned not to take any chances when brewing.
Sugar straight from the packet may be fine for human consumption but, bacteria that are harmful to beer can still lurk there. Hence, I tend to bring 80 - 85grms of sugar to the boil in about 100ml of water before putting it into a keg. Better safe than sorry.
