air lock

I have just brewed my first batch , my problem is now I have poured a few glasses as the beer is poured air is pulled in through the tap to make up the vacuum . I wondered if this will effect the beer in any way or if it will be ok . Should I invest in a CO2 injector kit for my next batch

It shouldn't do that, after just the first few glasses, sounds like a problem with secondary fermentation, I presume you primed the barrel, and left it to condition? You shoud have plenty of pressure For me, a CO2 system is an absolute MUST. If you are a one-pint-a-week man, then shouldn't be needed, but I'm not !

 No! Get ye bum out the door Today and invest in one!

Mick's right; If ye intend that keg full for consumption, rather than an ornament? It needs protection. That gurgling rumble as ye pour off a pint is the Death Rattle of the whole damn batch. Air's flowing in and it'll " Oxidise " the beer. I.e Ruin it in pretty short order.

Bright side is; If ye buy a proper 'Bottle' of gas ~ don't mess about with the stupid little 'Sparklet' bulbs ~ and ensure ye have the right valve on ye keg top? It'll last ye for a good many kegs of good beer.

Bite the bullet. Buy the bottle. Refills are almost as cheap as air
