I have just unearthed a Woodforde's Norfolk Nog kit that I was given about 14 years ago! Would I be right to assume that the contents are probably still ok to use, with the likely exception of the yeast?
Has anyone tried using baker's yeast in beer? It is apparently the same species (saccharomyces cerevisiae) although I suppose it may be a different variety.
Very old Woodforde's kit
Re: Very old Woodforde's kit
I would buy a sachet of good quality ale yeast, yes the contents of the kit will be fine you might want to add some hop tea as well.tomandrichard wrote:I have just unearthed a Woodforde's Norfolk Nog kit that I was given about 14 years ago! I agree, if the can is in good condition the extract should be fine. Bin the yeast. Bakers yeast will make a brew, but for the sake of just £1 I would buy some s-04 or similar quality yeast
