Bottle Capper
Bottle Capper
Hi,
Just wondered if anyone has experience of this bottle capper. I have used one very similar but wondered if this particular one was any good. Dave

Re: Bottle Capper
I have one very similar, it's black plastic/metal but the same idea as that one and it's great.
Very easy to use.

Re: Bottle Capper
If you can stretch to it, a bench capper is the best one to have. A bench capper will cap anything.
Two-handled cappers work great on most bottles, but there are a few types they will not cap easily or safely due to the shape of the neck, in particular the Wychwwod bottles. However, avoid these types of bottles and the two-handled cappers work fine.

Re: Bottle Capper
i've got one - have bottled over 600 with it so far with no bother at all.
Re: Bottle Capper
I have to say that when I shelled out for a capper I went for a bench capper and I am glad I did. Especially as I like the Wychwood bottles as the labels are one of the few - Fullers being the other - that just slide off after a brief soaking.
Re: Bottle Capper
I'll second that. I have had both and have never broken a bottle with the bench capper (yetAlexCricket wrote:I have to say that when I shelled out for a capper I went for a bench capper and I am glad I did. Re: Bottle Capper
I've also found Black sheep, London Pride bottles also excellent to remove labels. Isn't it sad when you choose a beer on the re-usability of the bottle!! Interesting in my opinion it is the cheaper paper based labels that are best.AlexCricket wrote:I have to say that when I shelled out for a capper I went for a bench capper and I am glad I did. Re: Bottle Capper
I saw this as a bargin on ebay.... thought it might have done me as cheap spare but alas, the price rose too high to make it worthwhile. Might invest in one of the bench cappers though. I've seen them on ebay and they look great.
Re: Bottle Capper
They're usually cheaper from the homebrew shops, especially if you are local or order enough for free P&P. I got mine from Farnborough Home Brew for about £23.daveyk wrote:I saw this as a bargin on ebay.... thought it might have done me as cheap spare but alas, the price rose too high to make it worthwhile.
