also my mate had some morgans iron bark dark he made with glucose ,which he named black bob. it was very nie and consumed all he had brought on his bike at storming the castle rally a few weeks ago.

 Dear oh lord! Ye worried me to death there! I thought ye were telling us two stouts ye had made tasted 'off'! #-o

Anyway, enjoy! I'm still looking forward to getting some friends and neighbours round for a mega, " The windows and doors are sorted. Sink and shower's in. Bloody paints dry and I'm able to sodding brew again! " sampling session.

Rate things are going round here? I may end up just calling it a New Years celebration!

The regular Coopers made with spraymalt is a lovely drop. I've a mate who brews all grain beers, has done for ages, but when it comes to his house Stout...In Coopers he trusts.
Planning - Not for a long while

Fermenting - I'm Done

Bottle Maturing - Hobgoblin, Fullers ESB, American Stout, TOP, Fullers London Porter, Bandini Black IPA

Drinking - Still...Whiskey

Going to tackle Cooper's Stout soon, well, as soon as I have bomb-proofed the house anyway.

What should the FG be, in and around, before it sees the bottle?

AAB;I'm probably the last one who should be commenting here, as I simply never bother taking a Hydie to my gear. But, till anyone else steps in; I'd suggest seven days and nights at around 20F should be ye minimum. Ten at that sort of temp' and I find my Coopers Stout looking well dead and still. Doubt it could do much after that :|

Twenty four or so hours is about when it tends to Blow. Expect that to last about forty eight. Peaking about three hours after ye've drifted into REM sleep!

Ha! Good man Ditch! Really looking forward to this now.

I was thinking of using an air-lock with it. Actually, the only FV I have has a hole for a bung so I'll just perforate some tin foil and stick it over? This hole in the lid is only about 1 and a half inches wide.

I have a kind of a "bain marie" ready to go, which I'll heat with an aquarium heater and put the FV sitting in it, set to 20.

Then off we go, like something taking off from Cape Canaveral!

Put clingfilm over the top instead of using a lid and put a few pin holes in it. Should work a treat.

I must try that cling film trick one of these days. Get it just right and it'd be a sight to behold; The Coopers Blow, contained in a towering sphere of transparency
