Ditch's stout strikes again :)

Well ditch you were spot on ok ok i know i said id wait a week or 2 but i thought about what you said that coopers stout can change rapidly over a couple of days soooo. I popped a bottle in the fridge earlier and ive just puored it.

Coopers yeast being what it is just 2 days in the bottle has given incredible carbonation,a good biege velvety head. The smell just amazing dark chocolate,caramel,coffee. The taste the bitterness is mellow i just can not believe it seriously this stuff was like drinking vinegar out the bottle it was that bitter. There is still a bitterness but i would imagine that will round off given a cpl of weeks by christmas this will be amazing.

Keep a few bottles for six months and try it again I swear it's one of the best stouts I have drunk.

BTW that tropical fruit Riesling needs to be served well chilled otherwise it's not that nice, it's too sweet for me any way but OH likes it, more a social wine than a serious wine.

got a pint in front of me now, had a few wherrys this evening already and you know something lifes good :lol:


Ive always found the stout drinkable in a few days from the barrel but needs a bit longer from bottle (only my opinion mind) i would imagine its amazing as it gets older but i dont think mine will ever get to that stage :D

It's Coopers that deserve the credit, Sargie :wink:

After all; They produce the basic kits. All I did was buy one and try one ..... and find my life turned round :mrgreen:

Yeah it defo needs longer but in another thread i was worried this batch had gone bad it was incredibly bitter. This is to go away for christmas so by then it will have had around 3 months conditioning so im sure it will be amazing then. As for the wine it is for my other half :) we were in grimsby home brew centre the other week and she mentioned she would like to make wine but that she doesnt like allot of wines. They had some of the tropical fruit reisling and the black cherry one made up and gave us some tasters. I despise wine especialy red but we both absolutly loved the niagra mist wines. Im sure proper wine buffs will slate it but we liked it so thats all that matters.

The wife is a big fan of spritzers and flavoured wines anyway. Tbh im just glad she is getting into the hobby with me it makes it much easier to blag new purchases :)

And yeah coopers get my vote excellent kits that ferment well and taste great,however ditch you gave me the confidence to bottle and try it in a few days and i did and you were spot on so credit were credits due ;)

You know what ive had a wherry too (also for xmas) and apart from it not being carbonated it tastes gorgeous just like old speckeled hen imo which i love.

You know what? I've had a Coopers Stout Kit in the fridge since May! I may just get round to putting it on now the cooler weather is here. =D>

Go for it buddy you wont be dissapointed real easy drinking and tastes amazing immature too.
