priming brewferm ambiorix

Post by b.all » Wed Oct 14, 2009 2:04 pm

i'm intending to bottle my brewferm ambiorix this afternoon.

the instructions say to prime with 120g which seems a lot considering it's only 15l and part of that will be left as sludge at the bottom of fermenter which means the priming level is close to 5g per bottle, or 1 teaspoon per bottle which is twice what i usually prime with. i know belgian beers are intentionally made more carbonated than english ales but this seems a bit overboard.

anyone else made it, any recommendations for priming amount?

I have never made that kit.............but..............I regularly prime that high if it is a cider or lager type of brew. I use PET bottles and have never had a problem.
