hi all
i have just bought my second beer kit(coopers european lager), i also bought as the woman in the local brew shop advised some brewing sugar. my question is that on the instructions it doesnt say how much sugar to use?
thanks in advance
any tips on brewing this one?
how much sugarand when?
Re: how much sugarand when?
yep - you need the whole 1kg.
it goes in along with the hot water when you first make the kit up; give it a good stir to ensure it dissolves

Re: how much sugarand when?
thanks for the replies , do i also need an airlock in the top of the brewing container?
Re: how much sugarand when?
You dont need one no , just crack the lid enough to allow pressure out.
Re: how much sugarand when?
Also, double check on this, but I think this kit comes with a LAGER yeast, so make sure you brew it at a lower temperature, between 13-20 degrees. Reason I comment, is because I put a Coopers Cerveza kit on today, and it said the European Lager kit comes with Lager yeast. If you knew that already then sorry for butting in!
Re: how much sugarand when?
hi,
the gravity has stablised for the last couple of days but it is still bubbling out of the airlock, how long should i leave it?
also how much sugar should i add if brewing in a pressure barrel?
thanks

Re: how much sugarand when?
I have done this kit a few times and the leaflet that came with it gives you the exact calc for priming sugar quantities.
Usually I leave this in the FV for 2 weeks and I have tried bottling and kegging, but bottling always turns out vastly better (more fizz) but you really need to let it mature for the full 12 weeks for the best results.
A very good kit!
