It can be transferred to another keg, or bottles, if you take care. Syphon the beer gently, and try not to introduce any oxygen by splashing the beer into the new keg or bottles. If the pressure in the keg is low, you should have less of a problem with it foaming up, but be aware that this may occur.

I would re-prime the beer again, but use around half to 2/3rds of the usual amount of sugar as the beer will already contain some CO2. If the beer is very clear, I would also consider adding a little of the yeast sediment to help carbonation along.

I'm not personally familiar with KK's. But, I wouldn't exactly be sh!tting myself, in your situation. I'm taking it it's a bottom tapper? And the taps fitting has proven itself a bit iffy?

Ok. That's probably the point under most pressure. Just remember, that pressure's trying to force ye beer Out. By that token, its making it harder for anything else to get In.

Personally, I'd go for getting it into another keg. Ye obviously prefer kegged beers anyway. Only, a trick I got from here ~ from Jim himself, if I remember rightly? ~ is to stick a yard or so of hose onto the offending kegs tap. Drop that to the bottom of ye fresh keg. Then open that baby and let her flow.

Result is that, in next to no time, ye beer's flowing 'under cover' from one to the other. So much better than gushing through space to splash around in the half filled, new keg.

Most of all; Don't Panic. Take the time to A. Test ye new keg. (Fill it and 'gas' it. Make sure That one isn't pissing water or CO2 anywhere). Then, B. Sanitise the new keg and the hose.

Stay calm. Don't rush out of a burning house, straight in front of a speeding motor. Lay the damn KK on its side, tap uppermost, till ye ready to proceed
