Specific gravity issues

Post by fatbutthin » Fri Nov 13, 2009 5:55 pm

I'm a bit concerned about my first brew, I didn't check the OG when I first put everything together but now that the bubbles have stopped rising (6 days in) I have checked the current SG and it's only 1.008
Is this bad or good or indifferent.
I can't seem to get a satisfactory answer from the internet.
Cheers peeps

Sounds in the right ballpark for a medium strength brew. What kit was it?

In any case, check it again tomorrow; if it's still 1.008 it's finished.

It's a Young's Brewmaster Bitter kit but I used Muntons Spray malt beer enhancer rather than sugar.
