Hi All
I got both the York Brewery Stonewall & Yorkshire Terrier kits for Xmas which contain 1.8kg LME & 1kg DME.
If I make them up to the stated 40 pints I reckon that'll give me an OG of 1037 which seems a bit low. Has anyone done these kits and made them to a shorter brew length? Maybe 35 pints to get 1042?
Cheers!

York Brewery Kits Brewlength?
Re: York Brewery Kits Brewlength?
I've done the terrier (which was overly bitter IMO, though I did use all of the supplied hops) ... I did it to 23l, I think you're wise to reduce the brew length though as mine was a bit weak.
Re: York Brewery Kits Brewlength?
Hi Banjokat,
I've made Yorkshire Terrier a couple of times now, each time to about 22 litres. They both started at O.G of 1042 One finished at F.G. 1012, i forgot to measure the other.
The York brewery stonewall bitter had very similar figures of S.G 1042, F.G 1011
I actually prefer the hoppy flavouor of the Terrier compared to the STonewall. Both quite good though.
Best regards, David.

I did the stonewall back when I was doing kits. I did it up too 40 pints and all the hop pellets. I recon 35 would be a good amount and maybee 2/3 of the hops as it was over bitter

Cheers for the heads up guys; I'll be making the Terrier up this weekend & will do it to 35 pints.
