Evening all.
Well, the Coopers Bitter I kegged just before Christmas is going down a treat. I know it's probably a bit early, but over-eager-beginner-syndrome has kicked in and most importantly it's been approved by the other half. ("Like a Draught Boddingtons" apparently, and as she worked in a pub for quite a while, so I won't disagree)
Going for something a little more unusual for the second, a witbier with added lime zest and coriander. Made it with medium dry spray malt (all I could get hold of) so may not be as 'wit' as it could be. Smells good in the FV, so happy so far. the kit recommended a 25° ferment so I've got a fish tank heater in a tub of water chuntering away down the cellar.
Finally a big thank you to all of the contributors to this site for unwittingly helping out big time. I've even got a an invite to a local brewers meet-up, but I think I really need to get off the ground first so as i can at least pretend to follow the conversation there.

B0llocks! Get yeself along there, mate! Ye'll pick up some first hand information and people will be able to express themselves to ye with tone and expression. Then, if two people offer ye contradictory advice on something, ye'll also see how it's not Mixing Paddles at Ten Paces, but they'll both 'argue' their own reasonings and agree to differ with a shrug.
That'll show ye how so little is carved in stone. That there's more than one way of achieving most of our aims. And that it doesn't matter. From such exchanges, ye can better decide which approach ye personally fancy adopting

And, if anyone discusses Kits? That could be a Real 'riot'!

Enjoy it.
