Hi all,
I'm brewing my first ever brew, and am using the Wherry kit. The instructions on the side say that I can transfer to bottles or cask after the primary fermentation.
However, I've just finished reading the Graham Wheeler book about brewing and it says that bottling straight after fermentation is completely bad practice and should be avoided. It says that I should cask it for a week or 2 before bottling.
Does it really make a difference? I was undecided and ended up making 2 bottles up, with the rest going into the cask so I can eventually taste it all and make a decision for the future.
I was also unsure whether I should prime the wort with sugar when it went into the cask, or into the bottles. So far I have left the cask brew without sugar.
Any views?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Conflicting bottling advice
Just leave it in the primary FV for three to four weeks then bottle.
