A bottle tree & spray gun full of sanitizer makes life a lot easier
oh and a bottle brush

After drinking I give my bottles a good swill in dishwater.
Then before bottling they get put through the dishwasher at a high temperature.

I thought mysterio was joking about baking them
I was going to reply with "I grill mine for 5 mins each side until tender and brown" but thought better of it.

If you have one, the easiest way is to put them in the dishwasher. To cover all bases I put steriliser in rather than dishwasher powder and they come out sparkling clean with no effort at all.

If you bake them, please do be careful with the temperature so they don't shatter, and remove them from oven very carefully, and leave them to cool before you will them or the temperature change will cause them to shatter.

Rule of thumb is that no living organism survives 130oc and if you can expose the bottles to 100oc + then you can be pretty confident that they are well sanitized. Either that or use chemicals.
