Hi all
Has anyone done one of these kits by Munton's, Cooper's etc and if so are they any good, how do they compare to Corona as we like to drink this in the summer?
I'm thinking of doing one of these kits for the summertime.

Hi Graham,
I've tried the Coopers Mex Cerveza and it turned out very nice. However I couldn't really compare it to Corona. Stronger tasting and heavier - but did use ale yeast supplied in kit. Nice with lime too.
Not sure what the ABV% was supposed to be, but my one came out at ~4%, using 1kg light spray malt. I have another of these in cupboard which I'm planning on using 750g spray malt, 250g brewers sugar.
Cheers

Yeah, Corona is a very dry beer so use as much glucose as you feel comfortable with to dry it out as much as possible.

Cheers guys
All points taken, thanks for not punishing me like everyone has done with bossman187uk in his post.
Think I'll give the lager a try once and then I'll try another IPA or a nice golden ale.
Can anyone recommend a light, golden easy drinking summer ale kit I could do as an alternative to a lager kit?
Not too bitter/dry though!
Regards
Graham

Us homebrewers can be guilty of snobbery sometimes... take no notice
It'll happen to you eventually

HI,
I am just ready to bottle a Barons Kit (Mexican Cerveza).
It looks darker than Corona. I'll let ya know when I taste it.

Hi Bob
Did you add anything to it like sugar, beer kit enhancer or spraymalt and if so, what and how much?
Think I'm gonna try the Coopers kit.

The Barons Kit is a 7L kit, just add water to 23 L. I did not add anything else to the kit (I usually add extra malt) the Beginning SG was 1.050.

Hi Graham
I've just done the Coopers kit and I'm in the process of force carbonating it in a Cornelius keg, as far as I can tell so far it seems to be what it says on the tin

although I did use lager yeast (saflager s23) rather than the ale yeast provided.

A nice light summer ale along the lines of a Kolschy or an alt is nice.
I did a few of those Barrons kits and found them a lot better than canned kits. Some even come with hops for dry hopping. The next best thing to mashing your own.

I emailed The Flagon and Cask at Bulwell and got a reply from Rod. I'm ordering a Muntons and Coopers Cerveza on Tuesday!
It will be an interesting comparison
Regards
Graham
PS I'm gonna get a bulk order of limes from ASDA in April
