Anyone used Geordie beer Larger making kit?
Hi there,
I'm about to start my first attempt at making beer - using a Geordie Larger making kit - makes 40 pints.
Anyone used this before?
Also, on some tutorials I've read that you should prime your sugars. The instructions that came with the Geordie kit just said to add 1/2 a level teaspoon of sugar per pint, into each bottle. Should I do this, but should I "prime" the sugar first? (heat in microwave etc)?
Thanks for any help.
Matt

big fan of Geordie lager kits, ok they are the only ones wilko stocks but hey ho.
i have found for best results do them to about 35 pints not the 40 on the tin. it will give it a more continental taste and always do with brewing sugar. never barrel. repeat never barrel, it doesn't get fizzy enough. i prime in 2lt pop bottles with a tablespoon of sugar, or brewing sugar and leave for a month minimum.
they may only be about £7 in wilko but they do the job.

Thanks again for the help, DaaB and Chopperswookie
On a website they were selling 3 geordie kits for the price of 2, so I got the lager and bitter and mild sets for about £15. Never seen them in the shops before though, but this is my first attempt (wasn't really ever interested that much in making my own beer).
Hopefully this will be okay
When you transfer the mixture to the bottles from the 5 gallon container, do you put the tube in and then tilt the container?
