Brewmaster irish velvet

I'm just about to start brewing this kit using dark spray malt in place of sugar. Does anyone have any handy hints or tips for me before I start?

I'm sure I read somewhere that if just spray malt is used with a kit the final SG will be around 1012ish, is that right?
